An immersive life-sculpture workshop from 11:00 - 17:30, located in the historic arts district of Bethnal Green. This workshop is designed to accommodate all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced sculptors. Through live demonstrations and one-on-one guidance, the course will provide you with the fundamentals of sculpting from a life model, while prioritising the distinct character and style of your work.
We’ll spend the day looking at proportion, gesture, and the basics of anatomy, breaking down the figure into simplified forms, mixing both short and long poses. All workshops offer live demos throughout in addition to both group and individual feedback.
You’re encouraged to follow your own style and interests throughout the day. And if you’d like, you can take home one (or more!) of your sculptures at the end.
The practical bits:
- Workshops run from 11:30 to 17:30
- Lunch is 13:00 – 14:00
- All the tools and materials are provided
- We work from a life model
- Tea and snacks are provided throughout the day
- Wear comfy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty. Some students prefer to bring an apron.
